McNeary hosted a webinar discussion regarding "Breaking the Cycle of Lateral Violence among Nurses", presented by Sandra McBroom, RN, BS, MSHSA on Wednesday, June 10th. Lateral violence has been widely reported and documented in healthcare with serious negative outcomes for nurses, their patients, and healthcare organizations. Also known as horizontal violence, nurse-to-nurse hostility and incivility, this issue is broad-reaching with clear implications for the safety and quality of patient care.

This webinar will examine the special organizational challenges associated with lateral violence among nurses. Ms. McBroom will describe the components and spectrum of risk management concerns associated with this issue, articulate how these challenges can affect the organization and increase the risk for errors, and offer practical strategies the organization can employ to address these challenges.
